Why I’m Here

Hello fellow nature lover and welcome to my first blog post! I’m so excited to be sharing this journey with you!

As you may already know, my name is Jackie….I’m all of the things: significant other, mom, daughter, sister, homemaker, homesteader, employee….blah, blah, blah…. but those are just labels. None of that defines who I am.

Who am I?

Hi! I’m Jackie

I'm on a quest to discover what makes us tick, why we’re here, and to learn and grow along the way

I’m not sure I know the exact answer to that. One thing I do know is I (along with maybe all of us) am on a soul’s journey on this beautiful planet earth. To learn, grow and live in gratitude for all there is to offer.

Who am I and why am I here on this earth, at this time?

Honestly, I may never know the answer to that question, but you know what I do know????

Being close to nature by spending time outside

amongst the trees, sitting with the plants, smelling the summertime flowers, feeling the cool winter breeze on my face…

By drinking lovely herbal teas, infusing herbal tinctures into my body, spreading herbal oils along my skin…

All of this allows me the space to feel complete, feel home, feel honored & loved.

Maybe, just maybe this feeling is apart of who I am and why I’m here at this time. That feels good, that feels right.

What I have done in my life, the bumpy roads I have crossed have helped shape who I am. I get to sit here with those battle scars and be proud of everything I have overcome.

Through this path, I first found a spiritual connection, not through organized religion, but when my mom first handed me a deck of angel cards. I was a complete skeptic at first, but fell in love once I realized how I could use them to benefit my life….

spiritual seeking led me to herbalism and I was hooked. I’ve spent the last 10 years refining my herbal knowledge and I continue to learn, I always will be learning about the plants. But that’s the beauty in it, learning.

I am a student of life, and I love to learn as many things as I possibly can.

So now you know I love being in nature, love a good set of oracle cards, fell completely in love with western herbalism…. oh….. did I mention I love gardening as well??

I first started veggie gardening AND that (again) snowballed into herb gardening, flower gardening, and now I love house plant gardening (is that even a thing 😂)

Over the years, I also have loved learning about homesteading and raising chickens (and oh yeah…chicken math is real!)

Which brings me back to the question of Why am I here? Right now, on this page, reaching out to whomever this resonates with.

Well having done all of those things, learned along the way for my Jack of All Trades personality….I’ve picked up a few tricks here and there, that I would love to share with you!

Being Close to Nature Feels like Home

Spending time crafting with plants by making infusions, teas, tinctures, oils… or just decorating with house plants to bring nature inside, so we can feel at home all of the time.

My brain may be a bit scattered, but my direction is clear….it’s nature centered…it’s a love for learning and exploring….it’s finding peace in a world that feels like chaos.

So if this sounds like something you’re into or some sliver of this resonates with you, then welcome! I am so glad you’re here.

We’re going to have so much fun. There’s going to be lots of topics, lots of teas, lots of time to just enjoy what Mother Earth has to offer!
